Making a Simple Tutu
Переглядів 9359 років тому
A quick DIY video on how to make a simple tutu. This tutu is for a 9 1/2 month old baby. To make a larger tutu, just measure the waist of the child/adult and decrease the number by 2 inches. That is the size you will cut and sew the elastic. You will also want to increase the length of the tulle to hang about mid to upper thigh. Have fun creating your own tutu!!

    Guys, listen to me.....forget the torch unless you want your house filled with smoke very fast and a smell that lasts for a week. Forget the hot water....forget the heat gun. Been doing this for years. Go to the gas station and get a half gallon of Kerosene. Put it in a paint tray and roll it on the entire surface. Wait 5 minutes and start scraping. When you get the paper off, roll on another layer and wait 5 minutes. The adhesive will come off very easily and the odor is actually very minimal. There is a very high flash point so your house isn't going to explode. You can get this job done for $3.

      Gas stations near me dont sell kerosene.... mineral spirits or paint thinner work? Diesel would smell like hell.

    The easiest and fastest way to remove any type of glue on concrete would be to use a floor grinding tool like the PHX12 ua-cam.com/video/Z-X9SpkWER0/v-deo.html

    Hey. Our rug stuck to our bathroom floor. When I went to pull it up, all the plastic from the bottom of the rug stuck to the tile. Someone told me to put a tile over it, and iron it with a hot iron. That plastic came off like butter. It still left tiny fragments of the plastic in the floor. It is white tile. Does anyone know how I can get the floor to look spotless? Buff it out with a scrub brush? Any suggestions?

    I'm a professional floor layer in London, UK. Take my advice, do it the painless way. Only bother to scrape off any real lumps. Do not bother with hot water. Use Ardex NA self levelling compound, which you can buy from specialist suppliers of floorlayers requisites. A bag will cover about 5m2 and in the UK cost about £18 per bag inc VAT. You get a lovely finish, smooth as a baby's bum. Rub down afterwards with a floorlayers carborundum block. This stuff just swallows up old adhesive residues, never to be seen again.

    this question was probably asked before...but can you just lay tile over the glue? What is the reason for getting down to bare cement?

    • @CocosSoapCompany
      @CocosSoapCompany 9 років тому

      We stained our floor, so we needed to get all the glue off. If you are laying tile, then you will still need to get as much off the floor as possible. So that way you have tiles that lay flat and do rise higher than the others.

    So really how much of the adhesive must be off to be ready to tile?? I don't think I can get every little bit off?

  • @alexiswitt772
    @alexiswitt772 9 років тому

    I'm curious what kind of floor you put down after you were done. I am wanting to stain my concrete in my basement. Found the vinyl tile but it has black adhesive under it. I wasn't sure if I could get it all off in order to be able to stain the concrete.

    • @danpuls

      Alexis Witt Black adhesive could be an asbestos indicator, do your research.

    • @alexiswitt772
      @alexiswitt772 9 років тому

      Thanks +Dan Puls. I've since decided to just tile over what I'm sure is asbestos tile.

    • @JarrettWilliams99
      @JarrettWilliams99 9 років тому

      Dan Puls be realistic, unless you're a contractor dealing with asbestos tile every day you have nothing to worry about.

    • @danpuls
      @danpuls 9 років тому

      Jarrett Williams Probably true, but if you suspect asbestos its sure a good idea to use a nice respirator (the kind with gas filtering cartridges on the sides) and wet sand/scrape it vacuum it up wet with a wet//dry vac and pour the sludge into a sealable container. Not fair the to garbage collector to get dusted trying to empty your asbestos trash, he didn't know he was being exposed to the hazard. Remember the risk for mesothelioma cancer = the hazard (asbestos) times the amount of exposure. Limiting your exposure to zero is preferred.

    • @bcitrowske1
      @bcitrowske1 8 років тому

      +Jarrett Williams not true at all. A small exposure to asbestos can give you cancer years later. My uncle found out the hard way.

    I watched this, remembered that I had purchased one of these about a year ago but never used it. Got it out and it worked great for about 5 minutes. Then it just died. Not sure why. Possibly too much pressure burnt out the motor. Not sure. heading back to HF now to see if they will replace it or at least let me buy another at the previous sale price. If not, I'll go rent one.
